Most avali have augmentations that improve their health. Guardian nanites protect the body from a host of diseases and foreign matter, though they are only proactive; an active disease or open wound requires actual medical attention. While guardian nanites can rapidly clot over a wound, only small cuts should be left to their care. Guardian nanites are designed to be unobtrusive, so the increase in dietary needs, for example, is none.
Other augmentations commonly fitted include homeostasis enhancement, for preventing death in space or from molten ice; improved vision or other senses; and stamina extenders, which may be fitted to filter hydrogen directly into the bloodstream.
